I decided on a new 2wd 1070 at $14,200. This tractor has 35 PTO hp and ag tires. It will primarily be used to mow a couple of acres of grass, box blade a half mile long driveway, disc and cultivate garden. Also, my family has a cattle operation so it will be used to bush hog (6 ft)rake hay and move 800lb round bales. I have been looking for over a year now and for the horsepower and money it should suite my purposes. I looked at a 4400 with sync and r4 tires for a $1000 more but didn't feel the 4 wd was necessary and didn't think it would handle heavy bushogging. I am also pleased that it has wet brakes and a syncronized transmission. I also really like the 790 for the money but didn't like the dry brakes and thought it was a tad light for my chores. I will keep you posted about the perfomance and such. I cannot tell everyone how much it helped reading the various posts on this board.thanks,James

James; You really should consider 4WD for al the tasks you have. It will add the equivalent of 10 hp to the tractor in pulling and manuverablity.David ....
